This yellow tea powder comes from the Huangshan (黄山) region in Anhui province and is made from traditional Huang Da Cha (黄大茶) material, one of the characteristic representatives of Chinese yellow tea. This type of tea undergoes a specific process known as “yellowing” (闷黄 mèn huáng), during which the leaves are gently and carefully transformed, giving the tea its distinctive soft and rounded profile.
Compared to green teas, yellow tea is calmer, smoother, and less grassy. In powdered form, these qualities become even more pronounced – the taste is smooth, lightly sweet, with subtle grain-like and nutty notes, and without strong astringency. The resulting cup is harmonious, rounded, and very easy to drink.
After processing, the tea is finely ground into powder, allowing the entire leaf to be consumed and offering a new way to experience this traditional tea. The powdered form preserves its natural character while adapting it to modern methods of preparation and use.
The powdered form allows for quick and simple preparation. The tea can be mixed with water, whisked in a bowl, or used as an ingredient in beverages and dishes. Thanks to its softness and balanced profile, it is suitable not only for direct consumption, but also for modern gastronomy – for example in desserts, smoothies, or milk-based drinks. Due to its good solubility, easy dosing, and consistent flavor, it is also suitable for broader applications, including industrial use in the production of beverages, dairy products, and other foods.
