This powdered green tea comes from the Huangshan (黄山) region in Anhui province, an area long associated with the production of refined Chinese green teas. Unlike typical Chinese powdered teas, this one is produced in the style of Japanese matcha, with an emphasis on preserving a vivid green color, fine texture, and a fuller flavor profile. The result is a unique fusion of Chinese terroir and Japanese processing techniques.

The tea is partially shade-grown before harvest, which supports the development of chlorophyll and amino acids, and is then processed to retain freshness and delicacy. It is subsequently ground into a very fine powder, allowing the entire leaf to be consumed. Compared to standard Chinese green teas, it offers a rounder, fuller body with more pronounced sweetness and gentle umami notes.

The flavor profile stands at the intersection of two worlds. It brings a soft creaminess and light umami known from Japanese matcha, while still maintaining the clarity and lightness typical of Chinese teas. The result is a balanced and harmonious cup with a smooth texture and a fresh finish.

The powdered form allows for quick and simple preparation. The tea can be whisked in a bowl using a traditional bamboo whisk, mixed in a glass, or used as an ingredient in beverages and dishes. Thanks to its fuller character, it is ideal not only for direct consumption, but also for milk-based drinks such as lattes, smoothies, or desserts. Due to its good solubility, easy dosing, and consistent flavor, it is also well suited for gastronomy and industrial applications, including the production of beverages and dairy products.

Tea profile:
• origin: Huangshan (黄山), Anhui, China
• processing: matcha-style green tea (shade-grown, finely ground)
• form: powder
• flavor: smooth, creamy, lightly umami, with a sweet and fresh finish

Brewing:
Use approximately 1–2 g of tea per 150–200 ml of water at 70–80 °C and whisk into a fine foam. Can also be prepared cold or with milk.

Note:
This is not Japanese matcha. The tea originates from China but is processed in a matcha style, offering a unique bridge between two tea traditions.
