A sheng puer tea from the Bingdao area in Lincang made from the Bing Dao Da Ye cultivar harvested in Manwei village. The tea offers a smooth texture, natural sweetness and a long lingering finish typical of this renowned Yunnan terroir. More

This pressed sheng puer tea (生茶) comes from the famous Bingdao area in Lincang prefecture, Yunnan province, China. The tea leaves were harvested in the village Manwei (曼尾村), a smaller but increasingly respected location within the wider Bingdao region.

The tea is made from the local large-leaf cultivar Bing Dao Da Ye (冰岛大叶), known for producing smooth and elegant infusions with natural sweetness and a long lingering finish. The leaves were processed using the traditional method of sheng puer production, meaning minimal oxidation and sun drying, which preserves the vibrant character of young puer tea while allowing it to mature beautifully over time.

The liquor is light golden with a clean and delicate aroma. Floral notes, gentle fruit tones and a subtle herbal freshness may appear in the cup. The taste is smooth and balanced, with the characteristic sweetness typical for the Bingdao terroir and a long aftertaste that slowly develops on the palate.

Thanks to the quality of the raw material, the tea is already enjoyable in its young state while also offering excellent aging potential for the years to come.

The Bingdao area (冰岛) is one of the most renowned tea terroirs in Lincang prefecture, Yunnan province. In a broader sense, the name Bingdao often refers to a group of villages known as Bingdao Wuzhai – “the five villages of Bingdao”, which include Bingdao Lao Zhai, Nanpo, Dijie, Nanguo and Baqihou. Teas from these villages are celebrated for their smooth texture, natural sweetness and long lingering aftertaste.

The village Manwei (曼尾村) lies within the wider Bingdao tea-growing area. Teas from this locality typically preserve the clean and sweet character associated with Bingdao, while often offering a slightly softer and more approachable profile compared to teas from the most famous old gardens of Bingdao Lao Zhai.
