This green (Sheng) Pu Er cake comes from the village of Bing Dao 冰岛, which can be found high in the mountains near the town of Mengku. The 200 g cakes are hand-pressed from leaves collected from old tea trees growing at an altitude of over 2000 m above sea level. These are wild growing tea trees over 200 years old. The age of the trees from which the leaves were collected for this tea cake is between 200-300 years old. It is the age of the trees and the terroir of the Bingdao location that together define the unmistakable character of this young sheng, which has a complex, smooth taste and excellent energy (cha qi). This production is from March 2023. After unpacking, you will smell a pleasant creamy fruity scent that won't let you go. The clear, bright golden brew has a light fruity aroma. The taste is delicate, a sensitive nose will recognize plums with cereals and a wide range of sweet notes. The aftertaste is persistent, soothing, with a touch of the necessary desirable astringency. More
