From the lush lowlands of the Brahmaputra River Valley comes a tea that shaped the world’s love for strong, full-bodied brews — Assam Orthodox Black Tea. Grown in the humid subtropical climate of northeastern India, where the misty mornings and red loamy soil create ideal conditions for the Camellia sinensis var. assamica tea plant, this tea represents the traditional craftsmanship of old-style Assam.

Hand-picked leaves are fully oxidized and carefully rolled in the orthodox method, not crushed or torn as in modern CTC teas. The result is a deep amber liquor with a bold, malty body, hints of cocoa and warm spices, and a lingering, honey-like sweetness.

Perfect for those who appreciate the heritage of classic British breakfast blends — but in its pure, unblended form, as it once was enjoyed on colonial tea estates. Excellent on its own, or with a dash of milk for a smooth, comforting cup.

Tasting profile: Full-bodied, malty, brisk; notes of dark honey, baked bread, and cocoa.
