Pu-erh tea buds represent a truly unique type of tea. They are harvested from wild-growing tea trees in the Lincang region of Yunnan province, where tea is still born in close connection with nature. Pu-erh tea buds represent a truly unique type of tea. They are harvested from wild-growing tea trees in the Lincang region of Yunnan province, where tea is still born in close connection with nature. Each spring, during a brief period when young buds emerge on the trees, pickers set out into the mountain forests with baskets on their backs. In the quiet and humidity of the subtropical forest, they spend hours carefully hand-picking only the youngest shoots that are ready at that precise moment.

The harvest window is very short and requires both experience and sensitivity. The buds are ideal only for a limited period of a few days. If picked too early, they are not yet fully developed; if too late, they quickly lose their delicacy and character. It is precisely this level of precision that makes their harvest so exceptional.

After harvesting, the buds undergo only minimal processing – they are naturally sun-dried, without further intervention. This allows them to retain their original character and makes them one of the least processed teas overall. They are picked from the same old trees as the leaves used for producing Pu-erh tea, which is why they are referred to as “Pu-erh buds.”

In the cup, they produce a light, pale yellow infusion with a surprisingly deep flavor. Notes of wood, earth, pine, hops, and meadow herbs emerge, all wrapped in a distinct, calming floral sweetness. This sweetness lingers in the mouth and body long after drinking, quiet and persistent.
