More

White tea made from the Hong Yu 紅玉 (TTES #18) cultivar is one of the most elegant reinterpretations of this famous Taiwan variety. While Hong Yu is celebrated worldwide for its bold black teas, the white-tea processing reveals an unexpectedly delicate, refined and airy face of this cultivar.

Leaves are plucked at their most tender stage and gently withered under natural airflow. This minimal processing preserves the tea’s purity and soft structure, allowing its inherent aroma to shine without distortion. The cup reveals a serene and layered profile:

  • natural spring sweetness,

  • notes of dried fruits such as apricot, pear, or white peach,

  • a soft, warming hint of cinnamon,

  • and the signature mint-like coolness for which Hong Yu is renowned.

The result is a tea that feels clean, refreshing and subtly uplifting—like breathing in cool forest air. Hong Yu White Tea is perfect for drinkers who love gentle teas with a clear identity. As with all premium white teas, it also ages beautifully, developing even more sweetness and depth over time.
