White tea made from the Hong Yu 紅玉 (TTES #18) cultivar is one of the most elegant reinterpretations of this famous Taiwan variety. While Hong Yu is celebrated worldwide for its bold black teas, the white-tea processing reveals an unexpectedly delicate, refined and airy face of this cultivar.

A cultivar created at the research station in Yuchi 魚池, it carries a special charm. It’s not a tea plant that tries to blend in — on the contrary, it can be so distinctive that you could never mistake it for anything else.
