Herbal Formula Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine

This herbal formula is based on a classical recipe of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In traditional Chinese herbal theory, similar formulas are associated with supporting the harmonious movement of Qi and Blood in the lower burner, the area corresponding to the lower abdomen.

The formula contains a combination of herbs traditionally used in Chinese herbology, including Gui Zhi, Fu Ling, Bai Shao, Mu Dan Pi and Tao Ren. In classical texts these herbs are described as supporting the natural movement of blood, dispersing stagnation and maintaining balance in the lower abdominal region.

In the terminology of TCM, formulas of this type are traditionally associated with patterns described as “blood stagnation” or “Qi stagnation” in the lower abdomen. These concepts belong to the theoretical framework of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

According to European Union legislation, specific health effects cannot be claimed for this type of product.

Characteristics in TCM terminology

In Traditional Chinese Medicine this formula is traditionally associated with:

  • supporting the harmonious movement of blood

  • dispersing patterns described as blood stagnation

  • supporting natural balance in the lower abdominal region

Traditional composition and principle of the formula

According to classical TCM theory, the individual herbs have specific roles within the formula:

  • Gui Zhi (Ramulus Cinnamomi) is traditionally described as supporting the circulation of Qi and the openness of the channels.

  • Fu Ling (Poria cocos) is associated with supporting fluid balance and harmonizing the middle burner.

  • Bai Shao (Paeoniae radix) is traditionally described as nourishing blood and harmonizing Qi.

  • Mu Dan Pi (Moutan cortex) and Tao Ren (Persicae semen) are associated with supporting the natural movement of blood.

In modern formulations some original ingredients may be replaced with herbs of similar traditional properties due to import restrictions within the European Union or international protection of certain plant species.

Traditional use

In the terminology of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formulas of this type are traditionally associated with patterns described as “blood stagnation in the uterus” or “Qi stagnation in the lower abdomen”, which may be connected with sensations of tension, pressure or discomfort in this area.

These concepts belong to the diagnostic system of TCM and do not represent modern medical diagnoses.
