201 DU HUO JI SHENG WAN – Palace Pillar Strength

Herbal Formula Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine

This herbal formula is based on a classical prescription of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). In traditional Chinese herbal theory, similar formulas are associated with supporting natural balance in the lower back and lower limbs.

In TCM terminology, these formulas are commonly used in situations described as the influence of Wind, Cold and Dampness, combined with a state of internal deficiency. Such patterns are traditionally associated with discomfort affecting the lower part of the body.

The formula contains a combination of herbs traditionally used in Chinese medicine, including Du Huo, Sang Ji Sheng, Du Zhong, Niu Xi, Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong and others. These ingredients are described in classical texts as supporting the harmonious movement of Qi and Blood, as well as balance in the area of tendons, bones and joints.

According to European Union legislation, specific health effects cannot be claimed for this type of product.

Characteristics in TCM terminology

In Traditional Chinese Medicine this formula is associated with:

  • supporting the natural movement of Qi and Blood

  • dispersing influences described as Wind, Cold and Dampness

  • supporting balance in the lower back and lower limbs

  • supporting vitality in cases of deficiency

Traditional composition and principle of the formula

According to classical TCM theory, the individual herbs have specific roles:

  • Du Huo is traditionally associated with the lower part of the body and balance in muscles and joints.

  • Xi Xin, Fang Feng and Qin Jiao are associated with dispersing Wind, Cold and Dampness.

  • Sang Ji Sheng, Du Zhong and Niu Xi are traditionally linked to supporting tendons, bones and the lower limbs.

  • Dang Gui, Chuan Xiong, Sheng Di Huang and Bai Shao are described as supporting the movement and nourishment of Blood.

  • Ren Shen and Fu Ling are associated with supporting Qi and harmonizing the middle.

  • Zhi Gan Cao harmonizes the overall action of the formula.

In modern formulations, some original ingredients may be replaced with herbs of similar traditional properties due to EU import regulations or protection of certain plant species.

Traditional use

In TCM terminology, formulas of this type are associated with patterns described as “Bi syndrome”, particularly in the lower part of the body. These patterns are connected with sensations such as heaviness, stiffness or discomfort in the lower back, hips and legs, often influenced by cold or damp conditions.

These concepts belong to the theoretical framework of TCM and do not represent modern medical diagnoses.
