This attractive tea is Oolong from gardens around the city of Fukuoka on Kyushu island. It is based on the Koushun cultivar and although not common in Japan, it is a whole leaf tea. Thanks to this, we can observe its handsome long leaves. This is a highly oxidized Oolong not far from black tea, however, regardless of its dark leaves, it is a tea with a smooth delicate taste. Upon first contact, you will be astonished by its distinct floral aroma. The brown-orange infusion has a pure fruity-floral sweet taste. Koushun is a unique cultivar characterized by the aroma of wild flowers with a fine mineral backbone and sophisticated astringency. It is quite different from the dominant cultivar Yabukita, its taste is highly rated for its strong taste, pleasant aroma and umami.
