Chrysanthemum indicum, known in China as Yě Jú Huā (野菊花), has been appreciated for centuries as both a traditional herbal plant and a refreshing daily infusion. Our wild chrysanthemum consists of carefully selected young flower buds harvested just before they bloom. At this stage, the buds naturally contain the highest concentration of aromatic compounds, giving the infusion its delicate floral fragrance and clean, refreshing taste.

Unlike the fully opened flowers commonly used for herbal decoctions, these young buds are prized for their richer aroma, smoother flavour and elegant appearance. The harvesting period lasts only a few days each year and requires careful hand picking, followed by gentle drying to preserve the flowers' natural fragrance and vibrant colour.

When infused, the buds slowly open to reveal a pale golden liquor with a delicate floral aroma, subtle herbal notes and a pleasantly refreshing finish. In China, chrysanthemum infusion is traditionally enjoyed during hot summer days or while reading, studying and other activities requiring prolonged concentration. It is also commonly prepared together with goji berries, creating a harmonious and naturally balanced drink.

Preparation

Traditional preparation in a glass or teapot
Use approximately 6 g of flowers for 500–700 ml of water at 95–100 °C (203–212 °F). Steep for 3–5 minutes. The flowers can be infused 2–4 times, with the flavour gradually becoming softer and sweeter.

Cold brew
Place 6 g of flowers in 700 ml of cold water and refrigerate for 6–8 hours. The result is a delicate floral and naturally refreshing beverage, especially enjoyable during warm summer weather.

Recommended daily intake

The recommended daily intake is 6 g of dried flowers.
