This high mountain oolong from the Lishan 梨山 region stands out for its purity and elegance. The infusion is light, silky and remarkably smooth, with expressive floral notes reminiscent of a mountain meadow after rain. The flavour reveals a natural sweetness, gentle creaminess and a long, refreshing aftertaste typical of teas grown in the high mountains of Taiwan. More

Lishan Cui Luan Oolong 梨山翠巒烏龍 is a delicate high mountain oolong from the famous Taiwanese tea-growing region of Lishan 梨山. It comes from Cuiluan 翠巒 in Ren’ai Township, one of the distinctive sub-terroirs of the Nantou area. The tea is made from hand-picked leaves of the Qing Xin 青心 cultivar, also known as “Green Heart”, growing at an altitude of around 2000 metres.

This is a classic Taiwanese high mountain oolong with a light oxidation level of approximately 15–20%. Its flavour is clean, harmonious and exceptionally smooth, without roughness, exactly as one would expect from a fine gao shan oolong. Elegant floral notes dominate the cup, evoking the impression of a mountain meadow or alpine flowers in bloom.

Lishan is one of Taiwan’s most celebrated high mountain tea terroirs. Located high in the mountains between Nantou and the Taichung area, it is renowned for producing exceptional oolongs with pure aroma, rich texture and long aftertaste. The sub-terroir Cuiluan 翠巒, whose name may be translated as “Emerald Mountains”, is one of the places where these qualities reveal themselves with remarkable clarity.

The dry leaves are tightly rolled into emerald-green nuggets. The picking style follows the standard of one terminal bud with 1–3 leaves. The infusion is clear yellow-green in colour, with an attractive and intoxicating floral fragrance. The taste is full, silky and refined, with a long floral aftertaste that remains on the palate for many minutes after drinking.
