Low Profile Classic Gaiwan is an elegant vessel designed for traditional tea preparation using the gong fu cha method. Its characteristic low profile and wide opening allow tea leaves plenty of space to naturally unfold while giving the brewer excellent control over the infusion.
The gaiwan consists of three traditional parts – a bowl, lid, and saucer. This simple yet refined design makes it possible to brew tea with great precision. The lid is used not only to cover the tea during brewing, but also to gently hold back the leaves while pouring and to capture the aroma rising from the infusion. Thanks to its lower and wider shape, this gaiwan is comfortable to handle and makes it easy to observe the leaves during brewing. The tea develops naturally inside the bowl, and the infusion can be poured quickly and smoothly, which is especially important when preparing high-quality oolongs, green teas, black teas, or pu-erh.
