The broad Doke River in Bihar flows through the land of the Buddha. It seems like the perfect setting for lush and abundant tea gardens, but it took pioneers like Rajiv Lochan to realize that potential. An organic way of growing the tea has effect not only on the tea itself, but also on development of a whole community around the Doke tea garden.

This hand-rolled green tea is made up of beautiful, fluffy green leaves. The liquor is slightly earthy with notes of cherry and citrus zest. The texture is sharp, delivering a clean, strong finish. We do recommend to use a temperature of 74 °C and a steeping time 60-75 seconds. Doke Silver Needle is no doubt high quality tea which right after Sri Lanka added India to a list of places where Silver Needle type of tea is produced outside of China. Unlike Chinese Fujian, where they harvest Bai Hao Yin Zhen only once a year, in India they have two harvests. Another, for a tea lover important, difference is a price. The Indian Silver Needle tea is more than two times cheaper than Chinese Silver Needle.

Only the freshest tender young buds, covered in a delicate soft white down are selected for Doke White Silver White Needle. Like most Silver Needle White Tea’s from India, these leaves are loose and slightly darker yet here this simply concentrates the delicious white tea flavors – a truly extraordinary Silver Needle tea. Large, downy needles produce a sweet and creamy, full-bodied golden liquor with notes of raspberry, peach blossom and dried apricot. Together with a small amount of astringency and a bit of malt/hops it can bring up a taste of a Belgian beer.
