Huang Jin Gui 黃金桂乌龙茶 is the name of a famous lightly oxidized Oolong from Anxi County, Fujian Province, China. Huang Jin Gui 黃金桂, which we translate as "golden osmanthus", gets its name from its floral character, which evokes the scent of the sweet flowers of the osmanthus. The tea itself does not contain any osmanthus flowers and is not even scented with them, it is its natural aroma.

This type of oolong became known as "Jade" Oolong due to the jade green coloring of the leaves and the infusion. Traditionally, many Anxi oolongs, even if lightly oxidized, would undergo a heavy roast to produce a much stronger roast profile. These traditional roasted Oolongs have fallen out of favor as unroasted pale green oolongs have grown in popularity in China and the West. This is largely due to trends among the younger generation in China. This type of Oolong teas are comparable to low-oxidized Oolongs from Taiwan, such as Jade Oolong, Four Seasons and others, which are gaining more and more popularity.

The tea gives an infusion of jade green color. The taste is creamy, soft, florally sweet with a long aftertaste. It is very refreshing prepared both hot and cold.
