Description:
This formula is a modification of the previous XIANG SHA LIU JUN ZI WAN formula, enhanced with additional herbs that support the movement of Qi. It is traditionally used for disharmony between the spleen and stomach associated with dampness. The tongue typically appears pale with a white greasy coating, and the pulse is characterized as soft and slippery.
Traditional formula analysis:
Some ingredients are substituted with herbs of similar properties due to import restrictions into the EU or their inclusion in the CITES list.
Dang shen, Bai zhu, Fu ling, and Gan cao form the base of formula 151 SI JUN ZI WAN/PIAN. Adding Chen pi and Ban xia creates formula 072 LIU JUN ZI WAN, which is further expanded to 073 XIANG SHA LIU JUN ZI WAN with the addition of Huo xiang and Sha ren. The current formula includes these and additional herbs. Huo xiang supports the transformation of dampness and harmonizes the stomach. Xiang fu promotes the free flow of liver Qi and supports the harmonization of the middle burner. Bai dou kou aids in transforming dampness and harmonizing the middle. Hou po supports Qi movement, dries dampness, and addresses food accumulation. Zhi shi helps disperse Qi stagnation and food accumulation.

Note:
This formula does not contain tonifying herbs and is especially suitable for conditions with pronounced dampness.
Dosage and Duration:
8 to 16 pills, three times daily. Effects may be observed after 3–4 weeks.
