072 LIU JUN ZI WAN More
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Actions:
• Supports spleen function
• Assists in transforming dampness and TAN
• Aids digestion
• Helps maintain comfort in the chest and upper abdominal area
Description:
This formula is a modification of the classic 151 SI JUN ZI WAN/PIAN, enhanced with herbs traditionally used to support drying of dampness, transformation of TAN, and promotion of Qi movement. It is intended to support spleen function in the presence of dampness and TAN, which may be associated with sensations of pressure or fullness in the chest and upper abdomen. The tongue typically appears pale with a white coating, and the pulse is XU, sometimes HUA.
The formula combines two traditional prescriptions – 151 SI JUN ZI WAN/PIAN, which supports spleen Qi, and 035 ER CHEN WAN/PIAN, known for assisting in drying dampness and adjusting TAN.
Traditional formula analysis:
In the current composition, some ingredients are replaced by substitutes with similar properties due to EU import restrictions or CITES regulations.
The formula is based on two classical prescriptions:
-
SI JUN ZI TANG – containing Dang shen, Bai zhu, Fu ling, and Zhi gan cao, which together support spleen function and regulate Qi.
-
ER CHEN TANG – containing Ban xia, Chen pi, Fu ling, and Zhi gan cao, traditionally used to harmonize digestion and assist with TAN.
Unlike the original ER CHEN TANG, this formula does not include Sheng jiang.
Contraindications:
Not recommended for use in cases of Yin deficiency.
