| In the past yellow teas were very popular, but they gradually disappeared from the market, since the production process for yellow tea is very demanding in terms of time and producers could not generate such profits as they could with green tea, with the result that yellow tea is more expensive. The original location of production of yellow tea is the Chinese province of Anhui, and the production process is very specific. The tea is seared at high temperature in small quantities (300-400mg) and then packaged into traditional Niu Pi Zhi yellow paper, and subsequently left to dry naturally for several hours. The process is slightly modified for each tea, and is repeated until the tea provides the required quality. Thanks to the fact that people are again becoming aware of yellow tea, market demand is growing and the prices of certain types are approaching the level of the prices of green teas. |
